Convo With Boots

Before I start, I just want to say that this outfit was inspired by The Flower Girl. She's an absolute sweetheart and I love her blog. Now then!

I just bought this XL shirt for 7 dollars yesterday. I'm normally skeptical about low prices because whenever I do buy inexpensive pieces, they tend to fall apart or just explode the minute I get home.Yes, explode.

I'm completely in love with it though. I've been hanging out in it all weekend. There are pieces that are lovely but impractical...This is not one of them. [/Win]

Shirt (Dress): Faded Glory ($7)
Jacket: Sonoma (Gift)
Knee Highs: Target ($10)
Boots: Charlotte Russe ($45ish)
Watch: F21 ($10ish)
Rings: Also F21 ($5ish each)

This outfit was so comfy. I ran around in it like a total idiot (and I'll put up a GIF later for those of you that don't believe me) and it was awesome. One of the straps on these boots keeps defying me but I'll show it.
You just wait and see boots, wait and see.

Super glue. The end.

Designer: Alexander Wang

When I first saw Alexander Wang's creations I was confused and distraught. Some pieces were so simple yet priced ridiculously. While browsing clothes on SSense, I came across these incredible pieces....by Alexander Wang. I regret my doubts completely.

Courtesy of SSense
I'm completely in love with the way his dresses drape. They give off the most feminine, light, airy look. (Definitely something I could run around in a castle in) The dress all the way to the right is my favorite. I'm in love with the shape.

I saw a different version of these booties (also by Alexander Wang) earlier and loved it. But, my love has transferred to these. I love the color. It's such a soft, muted color with a kickass design. (Plus they're lace ups!!) I love them.

Alexander Wang, you've earned my respect. Design on.

Blogs Are Hard Work

It's very clear to me that I am a horribly lazy person when I want to be. Am I being too hard on myself? I mean, I had a quiz in Econometrics and my first midterm this week. (I've been arguing with myself for hours...)

Anyway, I just wanted to commend those of you that manage to post every day. That seems absolutely ridiculous to me but I guess we all have different circumstances....

I have these beauties coming in the mail. They both retail for over 100 dollars. If you haven't checked out the Modcloth Cabin Fever Sale you should head over there. I normally find that Modcloth is far out of my price range (and then, as an Economics major, analyze it thoroughly) but this sale was worth it.

I don't understand why the clothes have to be so expensive; I find a lot of the similar clothes and shoes at different stores for much less....Seems counter intuitive to me (Hmmmm)

Entirely Too Ethereal

My cold has began to subside. I never realize how much I hate being sick until I actually am. I've been groggy and grouchy for the past few days. Hopefully normal broadcasting will return now!

This is an outfit from today (I say an because I often change several times a day; I can't help it!!)

I love the way the camera picked up certain colors in the form of discs...It's so neat. (Oggle)

It's incredible how many ways I can think to wear this studded blazer now that I have this blog. When I first purchased it, I knew I wanted it (badly) but I couldn't think of anything to pair it with. It ended up in no-man's-land for a while...

Button-Down Shirt: Boyfriend's (Stolen!)
Studded Blazer: Express
Black Yoga Pants: F21
Riding Boots: Lulu's (Bamboo!)

The Little-horn-big-heart Unicorn Necklace hasn't left my neck since my boyfriend gave it to me. It's absolutely sweet and absolutely neutral (It goes with friggen everything!) so I've just had it on all day and night.
I have an exam in Global Climate Change tomorrow after work~ I'm not terribly nervous because I've studied this topic endlessly (even before University) so here comes some light studying.

Indication of Stress

As you may have noticed, I haven't posted in a few days. I've been sick! And I'm fairly sure someone in my suite is to blame...But I won't get into that here. I've been following Oslo Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week through pictures and video and I'll do a favorites post at some point soon.

For now, more pictures of the lace-ups I adore:

The brown pair comes from Charlotte Russe and were featured in this outfit. The black pair comes from Lulu's (but you can also find them at Modcloth and some other online boutiques) and were relatively inexpensive.

I bought them completely on impulse and, thankfully, they were a good choice ~

Now then! I have another surprise...shall I share? Probably later.

Intricacies and Irrationality

I've always been inspired by intricate details (which explains my love of paisley) and systematic patterns...This probably also explains my recent mirror-image obsession...

I THINK IT'S NEAT. I don't care. Humph!

These are some of my favorite intricacies in homes and interior design...

(I have to admit, real houses with such decor often give me shivers but I tend but find some sort of tragic beauty in them. I suppose that's their charm...)

The name of this blog comes from my insatiable love for castles. I haven't delved deep enough into my own thoughts to understand why I feel so at ease and calm when I see them, I just know there's something magical in every castle and I can't help but want that.

Do I sound like a cartoon character yet?

Remember, if you have any questions, post them below! I need some for my undeveloped FAQ!

Outlandish

Yesterday was pretty warm (once again!) so it was decided by an imaginary friend and I that I would wear a skirt. Skirts are rather unusual for me but somehow this made me feel graceful (which I am so very not) and quaint. I suppose you should be the judges:

There was another photo but I really didn't like the quality (so there!):

I like the photo above because it kind of looks like I'm floating...Yes? A little bit? No? Okay...

I might Photoshop it and convince you later.

Jacket: Forever 21
Skirt: White Stag (I think?)
Boots: Charlotte Russe

Also, if you have any questions for me, post them below. As I mentioned in my last post, I'd like to compile some to create a FAQ.

I'd appreciate it and pay you with cookies (and clothes?)

Pursuit of Lace Ups

It was unbelievably warm yesterday so (as a dedicated fashion blogger) I was thrilled!! I could finally wear whatever attire my heart desired without the temperature limitations (until sunset, of course)...I wore a relatively casual outfit...The highlight definitely has to be the booties, which I will elaborate on in a moment.

Above is a photo of artwork on my friend's tote. Once I saw it I told her to "halt!" so we could snap a photo. I'm probably going to harass her about it for the next week...Aren't I a great friend?

Below are the amazing booties I mentioned earlier. My boyfriend calls them the "floppy shoes" because of the  bouncy cuffs. I think his observations are accurate.

If you've been following this blog for some time, you know about my relentless attraction to lace up shoes ~ It's a recent development in the overall scale of my life but I certainly consider a large part of my identity.
Before I get too philosophical though, these beauties are from Charlotte Russe (but you can probably find them elsewhere; I link below if you're interested in getting your own pair) ~ Loff.

Jacket: Sonoma (Gift)
Shirt: Wildlife Sportswear (Gift)
Jeans: Aero
Booties: Charlotte Russe (Purchase)

Did I mention I checked out my to-be summer apartment? It's so quaint... It's going to be perfect for transit to work and quiet movie-watching/book-reading-type activities. (Victory Dance!) And, two final things:

1. I've had this brilliant movie idea (Yes, I fantasize about such things) and I was wondering if I should share.
2. I never posted a FAQ but I'd like to compile questions for one! Please leave any questions you may have for me below! I'll do a massive FAQ post in a few weeks...

Obligatory Post: Comrades and Lovers

It's Valentine's Day (and as much as I feel for the single...having been single for years) I owe this post to the great people in my life. My boyfriend and others...

This is Terek. He's one of my favorite people ever...

This shoot was so much fun. We spent hours in there being silly.

Here's Terek and my boyfriend, Mo (They're roommates. It works out incredibly well.) I feel like they'd make the perfect cop pair on a TV show. They got the look for Hawaii Five-0.

Last one! My boyfriend and I. There's a ton more of him and I but I'll stop here before it gets too lovey-dovey. Although, I will give you this much: He's a wonderful person and I'm just plain lucky to have had the chance to know him.

I hope you all have your own "Mos."

Miss Copper Paisley

Things of late have been slightly stressful. Generally speaking, I tend to deal with stress fairly well. It seems like the older I get, the more I have to worry about. (Which is also why I still own several stuffed friends and coloring books. I just want to play...Shoo!)

At any rate, I had an unreal time in the studio today. A bunch of friends and I went nuts with the lights and cameras. We took a ton of pictures--but I'm just going this outfit...for now:

This copper paisley button down is such a dream. I've worn it in so many ways and yet it never ceases to amaze me. I definitely count it as one of my favorite pieces.

Black Dress: F21
Shirt as Dress: (Gift)
Belt: Boyfriend's
Model: Unicorn

These pictures were taken on my Nikon. My friend Allan took a batch of other photos on his DSLR. I'll be posting the ones from the DSLR in a few days...Stay tuned!! (Smooch)

Review: Beso.com

(Elizabeth and James Pop Artist Shirt) (Kimchi Blue Cummerbund Trouser) (Steve Madden Perrin Knee-High Boot)
I was recently asked to review the website Beso.com and, although this is my first review (ever!), I'm excited to offer my thoughts! One thing I particularly love about this site is the organization. The search feature is simple and quick so it doesn't take long to find what you're looking for. I've been drooling over the Steve Madden Boots above since I initially saw the black version. Of course, one of my first searches was steve madden women's boots. I also explored knee high boots and elizabeth and james blouses which resulted in an infinitely diverse selection...Yes, I was on there for hours

I'm thinking the trousers above will make it into my wardrobe (very soon) but I'll keep my final decision a secret for now. Be sure to check out the site when you're craving a diversity of prints, textures and styles.

Investment Piece (Asos Aviator Jacket)

I was hoping on keeping the secret for a bit more but it's in!! This is the A|Wear Aviator Jacket from ASOS!

I'm going to file it under investment pieces. Since I've downed so much money on inexpensive mountains of shirts, jeans, and tanks, I've decided I need to get serious if I plan to develop a wardrobe I love.

Investment pieces are articles of clothing that are pricey but high quality and versatile.

The unicorn necklace above was a gift from my boyfriend. I love it. (HOOF PRINTS EVERYWHERE)

Jacket: A|Wear Aviator Jacket (ASOS)
Cardigan: Freeway Apparel Dual Tone Cardigan
Pants: Forever21 Yoga Pants
Boots: Charlotte Russe Strapped Boots
Necklace: (Gift)

There's a lot going in life right now...I'm planning on seeing the apartment next Monday (The rent is absurdly good so I'm thinking the people currently living there are drug dealers?...) I'm working on a ton of projects at once so I definitely need to figure out some new (effective) time management methods.

The Corduroy Evening

I told you I'd post an outfit post tonight! Tsk tsk~ to those of you who suspected otherwise!

This was sort of thrown together but I love it. I've never paired this particular shirt with my corduroy blazer.

Corduroy is such a nice material to style. I only own one of corduroy piece but I'm thinking about expansion...

Blazer: Sonoma (Gift)
Blouse: From Hong Kong!
Pants: ??
Watch: Forever 21
Bracelet: (Gift)
 Charm: Re-worked F21 Headband

In other news, I'm getting my own apartment for the summer so I can work and have a good area to shoot in! I'm going to check the place out in the next week or so.

And, I'm thinking of flushing out my wardrobe. I feel like I need to make room for what I call...investment pieces. I just bought one last week! It was originally $103 but I bought it for $46.

I want to tell you what it is....but I like secrets~

Broadcast Between Books

I'm coming to you LIVE from my laptop...This somehow this feels very devious. Normally I don't attempt to post between classes. But I haven't posted in a while so I just wanted to let you all know I'll have an outfit post tonight!

No worries... Also, here's a snap from last week's outing. It makes me giggle~

Style In The Commons

I went to Panera Bread for the first time today (I know, I'm so sheltered...) Anyway, GREAT SCOTT!! The food was amazing. Somehow I didn't think to take any snaps at that point. Sorry! But I'll give you some idea of what it was like--I had a Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich and Chicken Noodle Soup.
Very, very good! Be sure to head over if you haven't tired it.

After that we all went bowling and I decided to document this amazing coincidence! My boyfriend and one of our good friends both have the same jacket from H&M. I think it's hysterical because they're so similar in every other possible way. My boyfriend has it in Sand...

And this one is Matt's in Charcoal...

It's a pretty sick jacket. I can see why they both bought it; lots of pockets and zippers to play with.
Here are another friend's shoes. She's adorable. We giggle over shoes/clothes/cats at work. (SShhhhh!)

I loved her leopard print scarf. It's so chic and simple.

I have an outfit post coming up later...but I'll probably post more sketches first! I miss those.
Haven't drawn much in a while. I feel VOID!

Studded Blazer Mania

I'm very pleased with this outfit. One thing I can say for sure is that having this blog has definitely forced me to think more critically about my outfits and be more innovative with my styling...

This outfit is for Diya's second challenge--"The theme for next week will be the boyfriend blazer..."

I've never sported this look out before but this challenge made me wonder why not!?

It was a lot of fun shooting this. And now, some outfit details for you monocle-eyed maniacs!
Studded Blazer: Express
Vest: ?? (Miley Cyrus! I admit it!)
Sports Bra: Forever 21
Skinnies: American Eagle
Lace Up Booties: Lulu's (Bamboo!)
Watch: Forever 21

I love these booties. When I first bought them I wore them daily for a few weeks straight; it was pretty unhealthy, actually. The one thing I don't like about them is that they're a bit difficult to take off (There's no zipper...??) But otherwise, they're quite comfy and cute.
The studded blazer is bomb. That is all.
