R u p e r t    S a n d e r s o n    S p r i n g    2 0 1 2

I'm not familiar with this designer but I'm excited to start following his work. I love the patent black paired with a sheer base. And the semi circle details are cute too. Check plus.

Browsing frilly things on ASOS. Here are some expensive things I'll likely dream about later.

Although, I shouldn't complain; I have some new BB Dakota stuff coming in the mail. After the first dress, I needed some more. This weekend should be interesting. I have so many things to catch up on ~ lots of organizing, writing, and studying. Whenever I'm not particularly eager to do any of those things, I clean. It's my way of feeling productive without accomplishing much of anything....I think I'll do that now, actually.

I'm excited about some new additions to my life. The first being the sweetest little mug that you ever did see. Although, I must say, I've always felt mugs/socks/magnets were cop-out gifts. This has proven to be the exception.

It's a bit strange because I've never been particularly fond of the color pink but it's just sweet. My best friend Mahria got it for me during her trip to Florida ~ it's straight from Disney! (Which I've never been to, by the way...nudge)

The second gift is a scarf courtesy of Remember A Day! It thought it may be cold because of the perforation but it's actually like a force field of warmth. I'll definitely be wearing it a ton these months.

And of course, last but not least, the boots. They're here. I expected incredible height and remarks from others but not the comfort. I've worn these for entire days and felt peachy. I'm seriously impressed. If you're interested in a pair, catch them here. In other news, this semester has been unfolding well. Frankly, I'm excited to graduate. I'm also terrified but I think the excitement trumps the fear.

It's nice to finally have a structured week again; I'm the kind of person that goes mad without organization and structure...But, strangely, I hate making plans. Seems contradictory, doesn't it?

Surely you remember my obsession with gold detailing as illustrated here and here? I have another round for you, my friends. I know if I had to choose I'd pick these first ones, easily. They're just perfect.

I'll be moving again in a few days so expect delays with responses to emails and such. I'm very excited though; new semester, new classes, new goals, new year...all that good stuff. Plus, my shoes are coming in the mail! I just can't wait to try them on. See you on the other side, ladies.

Above are two pieces that I think will endure the closet purge. I've been so happy with this whimsical BB Dakota dress; the material feels absolutely amazing. I'm so used to settling for pretty but uncomfortable so it's refreshing to find a combination. I can see this dress staying with me for a long time...Preciouussss. Hahaha!

Today was pretty eventful! I finally got a chance to see Mo again after the ridiculous separation anxiety. We're like soup and crackers; a bit silly, but true. We spent the day at the mall. I gave him a $50 giftcard I won over at Kathleen's blog for his birthday in December and he bought this wicked jacket.

The tag said $80 but when we got to the register he ended up paying under $16!! I was thinking, "Wait, did he say $50 or $15!?" It was a pretty pleasant surprise. After that I picked up a cute pair of plaid tights and we went to to see Mission Impossible. I was extremely reluctant about the whole thing because I was dying to see Tinker Tailor Solider Spy...but it actually turned out to be a lot of fun. Gary Oldman will have to wait. ♥

Another set of photos from before break. It's combinations like these that help me realize, "I wish I had tailored black pants" or "I wish I had spotted black tights" etc. While browsing blogs for advice on how to properly purge my closet (one of my resolutions) I decided I'll be documenting the process on this blog; maybe some of you can join me!

I've actually already started. When I got home my mom pulled out tons of my old, old clothes and, in several words, said, "You need to get rid of this stuff." While making piles I found a gorgeous taffeta skirt that I'm really excited to post soon! The rest will be donated or may make an appearance in the shop! I'll alert you all when the clothes are posted. ♥

I threw this board together. I really love the leopard print blouse from Zara. I normally don't go for animal print pieces but the contrast collar and sleeves are just so sweet! The floral sequinned dress is another favorite. Can you believe the entire piece is sequinned? Crazy. BB Dakota's new releases have really impressed me as well. I love just about everything on their site recently. After I purchased this BB Dakota dress, I couldn't get off their site.

I think I'm going to start splitting up the days happenings, thoughts, random stuff from the rest of the post so things are a bit more organized! This morning I was watching OWN (totally not a TV person but this really surprised me) and I got sucked into a documentary called I Am. It carries viewers through a story about society's pressures and the traditional definition of success/happiness. It was really interesting...

I often dwell on how I define success for this blog. I don't want to set the bar too high or too low. But how can I really control my expectations? Aren't they just based on what I've seen from other blogs? Thoughts like these make me thing I should stop reading blogs all together...but, at the same time, they're good fuel for creativity and inspiration. I just want to expect nothing and be pleasantly surprised. What a dilemma... Any advice?
