These photos were taken a while ago, when the weather was warmer. After dressing up it's nice to just throw on a t-shirt and jeans. In fact, this is probably closer to my day-to-day look than any other outfit. Some might call it laziness but I think I look awesome...sauce. Awesomesauce.

The lovely ladies and lads over at OASAP (not sure if it's supposed to be all caps) let me pick out an item from their shop and I went with these dorky shoes. I had my eyes on a few necklaces but I figured I'd wear these more. I'm supposed to talk about them so here goes!

They arrived in proper packaging but no box. They also smelled a bit funky but nothing too awful; just that synthetic shoe smell. Finally, they had some weird gooky stuff (the sticky stuff you find on the back of a credit card in an envelope) on the side of the shoe. It wasn't hard to remove it though.

Now for the good parts! They're really comfortable. I probably should have noticed that they're lined with faux fur before I ordered them because summer is fast approaching. I'm going to attempt to squeeze in a few more wears before the wrath of summer lands on us. God, I hate heat.

I can't believe the weekend is already over. Feels like I didn't accomplish much schoolwork. Yesterday, I had family visitors and last night I attended my first live sporting event! Red Bulls v. San Jose Earthquakes. I had a lot of fun although we didn't win and I certainly enjoyed the cult of thirteen year olds next to us...they kept trying to make us do the wave. Over. And Over. And Over.

Today was no less fun. If you follow me on Twitter, you know I was at a TEDx event all day! Some of the stories and ideas presented were just brilliant, others seemed like they needed development. In any case, it was great fun and I loved the energy; felt like I was sitting in a room with future leaders.

And, finally, the outfit here is a bit dry (and by that I mean dull...and by that I mean boring). But, I do love this new summer shirt. When I bought it I was holding about 12 other items and all returned to their racks. I love the lightness and softness; two qualities that will stand unmatched this summer. 

I have some goodies coming in the mail. For me, receiving a letter or package is high up on my list of exciting things. I wish having a pen pal was still ordinary. I used to have a pen pal when I was younger; she's since moved onto greater things and I suppose I have too. Either way, I'd love to chat via carrier pigeon if any of you would like. My pigeon's name is Caesar. He's coming.

Yesterday, Mo and I visited a local DSW; he was looking for proper interview shoes, I was hovering around these pretties. A lot of the heels that I tried on yesterday (strictly for giggles) were hardly comfortable. And, in fact, most of the heels I own are really impractical. I was tempted to try on a pair of Jeffrey Campbells to see if the absurdly large platform made all the difference but they just looked so silly.

Anyway, I liked the Via Spigas above and I fell in love with the Joie Sandals below. They are so dangerous but so so pretty. I tried them on to see if I could take a few steps and, as expected, they were very treacherous. The giant block of wood is barely attached to your ankle. Falling in those would mean a sprained something. Anyway, I'd still buy them if I wasn't trying to save up. 

Also, the Castle Fashion Shop is now full of goodies (i.e. shoes)!

To be frank, I've never been particularly infatuated with make up. It's interesting to meet girls that treat it like an art form; they're always so lively and passionate. I wish I could have the same enthusiasm in that realm. Anyway, my best friend Mahria tested out her Naked Palette on me a few weeks ago. 

I think this may also be the first time I've worn blush in years!

Yesterday, Mahria and I were playing around with makeup and she transformed me into a semi-awkward goddess. I'm normally completely awkward but this disguise raised my confidence by two inches...I know, it doesn't make any sense. I'm still recovering from the exam I just took. (Currently rolling around on the floor...)

Onto more fashion related things, I bought this dress a few days ago! Since it's been chilly, I can't wear it alone but I love all the details. It's sleeveless with cutout sides. Unfortunately, I think it's sold out on Forever 21 but it's available on Romwe (for significantly more). I've never understood why some retailers think they can get away with such ridiculous prices. It was around $25 when I bought it; about half the price.

After a string of good events, it's only natural that my flat iron would die a miserable death. Well, I'm not exactly sure what happened. I was tempted to dissect it for clues but before digging in I revisited Folica to see if they still carry Solia flat irons. 

Turns out, Folica actually started a flat iron recycling program! I'm going to pick out a new flat iron by the end of this week (probably this pink solia flat iron) and get a discount for recycling my old one ~ seems like perfect timing to me! ♥
